Mountain View Natural Medicine

Lorilee Schoenbeck, N.D.

Dr. Lorilee Schoenbeck is a fourth generation physician (although the first naturopathic physician), and has practiced in Vermont for 15 years. A graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, she completed her pre-med at the University of Wisconsin and also holds a bachelor's degree in nutrition from Goddard College. Dr. Schoenbeck is widely regarded as a regional and national expert on women's and adult natural medicine, and is respected by both natural and conventional medicine practitioners with whom she enjoys collaboration. For ten years, she was the first naturopathic physician to practice natural medicine in a Planned Parenthood owned gynecology clinic, and is now excited to be expanding her services in creating her own clinic, Mountain View Natural Medicine. Her aim is to engage her patients in creating optimal health, and creating treatment plans that reflect each person's individuality and goals.

Taking the actual meaning of 'doctor' as 'teacher' literally, Dr. Schoenbeck teaches in Johnson State College's Wellness and Alternative Medicine Program, lectures frequently to medical professionals and the public, and has taught extensively at program centers such as Kripalu Center and Omega Institute. As past president of the Vermont Association of Naturopathic Physicians, she led the effort to pass legislation which recognizes NDs in Vermont as primary care physicians covered by insurance, and is now involved in health care reform. Her book, Menopause: Bridging the Gap Between Natural and Conventional Medicine is a trusted guide to thousands of women.

In her free time, Dr. Schoenbeck loves to swing dance, practice yoga and hike in the Green Mountains with her partner Richie and her dog Gwynnie.
